PARADE MARSHALL NAMED FOR 2025 SUMMERSIDE LOBSTER CARNIVAL
Posted on 07/03/2025

SUMMERSIDE, PE The Parade Marshall for the 2025 Callbecks Home Hardware and Leon’s Summerside Lobster Carnival Parade has been announced. Organizers of the 69th annual event, taking place from July 10th–12th, are proud to name Adam Binkley, Executive Director of BGC Prince County, as this year’s Marshall.

For over 30 years, Adam Binkley has led BGC Prince County with vision, compassion, and a deep commitment to community. Under his leadership, the organization has grown from a small local club into a vital community hub, offering emergency shelter, transitional and affordable housing, early childhood programs, and youth employment initiatives.

Throughout his career, Adam has championed innovation and inclusion, guiding the development of LifeHouse Emergency Shelter, building housing for vulnerable populations, and supporting countless Island youth and families. While he’s received numerous accolades, including the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal, Paul Newman’s Own Award, Summerside Citizen of the Year, PEI Crime Stoppers Award, and the King Charles III Coronation Medal, Adam credits the BGC team as the true heroes: “Any success we’ve had is because of the incredible staff who continue to push the organization forward every day.”

Mayor Dan Kutcher shared, “Adam’s dedication to the well-being of our youth, families, and community is nothing short of inspiring. His leadership has created safe, inclusive spaces and opportunities for hundreds of Islanders. We’re honoured to have Adam lead this year’s Lobster Carnival Parade.”

While lobster remains the symbolic heart of the Carnival for its impact on the Island economy and way of life, the City also proudly recognizes community members and organizations who work tirelessly to make Summerside a better place. Organizers are encouraging businesses and organizations to include these unsung heroes in their parade entries, helping to showcase the people who make a difference every day.

The Callbecks Home Hardware & Leon's Summerside” Lobster Carnival Parade will take place on Saturday, July 12th at 12 PM.
