CELEBRATE SUMMERSIDE RACEWAY DAYS JULY 15-18 AS PART OF LOBSTER CARNIVAL CELEBRATIONS
SUMMERSIDE, PE - The Summerside Lobster Carnival is proud to present Summerside Raceway Days, taking place July 15–18, 2026, offering a dynamic four-day celebration of community, culture, and tradition.
Hosted across Credit Union Place and Red Shores at Summerside Raceway, this signature event blends the vibrant energy of the Lobster Carnival with the longstanding heritage of harness racing in Summerside.
This year’s festivities carry special significance as the city marks 150 years of harness racing—an enduring tradition that has played a defining role in Summerside’s identity. Residents and visitors are invited to take part in a full schedule of activities, including live harness racing, entertainment, culinary experiences, family-friendly programming, and midway attractions.
The celebration will culminate with the running of the Governor’s Plate, one of the premier events in Atlantic Canadian
harness racing.
“Summerside Raceway Days is a celebration of who we are as a community,” said Mayor Dan Kutcher. “Marking 150 years of harness racing is an incredible milestone, and this event brings together our history, our people, and our spirit in a way that residents and visitors alike can truly enjoy.”
Councillor Nick Cameron added, “This event showcases the best of Summerside—from our rich racing heritage to the vibrant experiences that make our city such a welcoming place. It’s an exciting opportunity for families, visitors, and racing fans to come together and celebrate."
Summerside Raceway Days continues to grow as a cornerstone event within the Lobster Carnival, highlighting the unique character and traditions that define the city.
