SUMMERSIDE, PE - Canada’s best 15U baseball players are back in Summerside for the 2026 Ray Carter Cup, which begins on Thursday, August 20 and runs through Sunday, August 23.
This is the second consecutive year Summerside has hosted the Ray Carter Cup, and the fourth time overall after also hosting in 2016 and 2017.
The Ray Carter Cup consists of 28 games featuring representatives from all 10 provinces, including Prince Edward Island. The games will be played at Queen Elizabeth Park, with significant upgrades recently completed on both Legends Field and VIV Field.
First pitch is scheduled for 9:00 AM on VIV Field on Thursday, August 20, when Newfoundland and Labrador faces Nova Scotia.
“The continued confidence from Baseball Canada is a testament to Summerside’s growing stature as a leader in hosting national sporting events,” said Mayor Dan Kutcher. “These championships bring incredible energy to our community while delivering meaningful economic impact. We look forward to welcoming athletes, families, coaches, and fans from across the country to experience all that Summerside has to offer.”
Team Prince Edward Island is coached by Dawson McCormack, and features Summerside Area Baseball Association (SABA) players Hudson Murray, Ashton Desroches, Chase Cotton and Cale Praught.
“For the first time in our hosting history, we get set to do our second Baseball National Championship in one summer, just weeks apart,” said Tanner Doiron, Chairman of the Ray Carter Cup Host Organizing Committee. “This tournament, like the Baseball Canada Cup, is a tremendous opportunity to showcase our community, our volunteers, and our passion for hosting national sporting events. We can’t wait to welcome everyone to the newly renovated Queen Elizabeth Park for what promises to be an outstanding week of baseball.”
