SUMMERSIDE, PE - The City of Summerside is proud to announce it has been awarded an unprecedented series of Baseball Canada National Championships, further solidifying its reputation as one of Canada’s premier destinations for major sporting events. Building on previously announced events for 2026, Summerside has now been officially awarded three additional national championships that will bring elite-level baseball to Prince Edward Island through 2029.
Summerside will host the following Baseball Canada National Championships:
Already Announced:
- 2026 Baseball Canada Cup (17U): August 5–9, 2026
- 2026 Ray Carter Cup (15U): August 20–23, 2026
Newly Awarded:
- 2027 Baseball Canada Cup (17U): August 11–15, 2027
- 2028 18U National Championship: August 17–20, 2028
- 2029 18U National Championship: August 16–19, 2029
These newly confirmed events mark a historic milestone for Sport Entertainment Tourism Summerside (SETS), as the City will welcome five national championships in the next four years. This sustained commitment from Baseball Canada reflects Summerside’s exceptional hosting capabilities, world-class sport infrastructure, and the dedication of its volunteer base.

Chairman of the Host Committee, Tanner Doiron, expressed enthusiasm for the expanded slate of events. “Our volunteers, partners, and community have proven time and again that Summerside delivers an exceptional athlete and spectator experience,” said Doiron. “Being awarded championships through 2029 demonstrates the strength of our community support and our commitment to delivering top-tier events year after year.”
These tournaments are expected to attract thousands of athletes, staff, and fans annually, contributing significantly to Summerside’s tourism, hospitality, and local business sectors. With multiple major events now scheduled over the next several years, Summerside continues to strengthen its legacy as a nationally recognized host city for championship sport.
