SUMMERSIDE, PE – The City of Summerside is pleased to welcome the Newfoundland Regiment to Credit Union Place this week as the Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) club holds the first phase of its 2026 training camp in the city.
The Regiment will call the Gerard “Turk” Gallant Arena inside Credit Union Place home from August 19-23, with a series of practices, intrasquad games and team activations taking place throughout the week. Scheduled team activities in Summerside will be open to the public and free to attend, providing local hockey fans with an opportunity to get an early look at the Regiment’s 2026-27 roster.

training camp,” said Mayor Dan Kutcher. “Summerside has a strong connection to hockey, and we’re proud to have a
facility that can welcome organizations and athletes from across the country. We look forward to welcoming the Regiment,
their staff and their fans to our community and hope they enjoy everything Summerside has to offer.”
The City of Summerside encourages residents and hockey fans to take advantage of the opportunity to visit Credit Union Place throughout the week and experience the Regiment’s training camp firsthand.

PEI has a rich hockey history, our team has plenty of roots there and we’re proud to be starting our sophomore season in Summerside.”
